Fellow Tulips & Other Friends,
I have the unhappy duty to inform you that our fellow “TULIP” & great friend & colleague A61228 Ian Harold {Tassie} Cairns, ex Airframe Fitter, passed away sometime before 1100 hours Wednesday 20 Jan10, when his wife Alma tried to rouse him. I have spoken to Alma this afternoon and had a good chat to her. She advised me of the details. Tassie passed away in his sleep.
She is holding up well under the circumstances. .
The funeral is on Monday at 3.00pm at the Altona Crematorium in Melbourne.
Chook Cecchin was going to phone our Melbourne “Tulips” to advise them.
I will keep in contact with Alma to see how her & her family is coping.
(P.S. Alma advised me to tell you that she does not use the computer so if you send an e-mail you will not receive a reply. Her phone no is 03-93695050.)
Please advise Tulips in your area without e-mail of the sad loss of Tassie.
Hope to see all you Tulips at our 50th Reunion in March
Cheers To All & Take Care. .
